Satelite locations

Can anybody give me the exact co-ordinates of two Internet satelites.
The first is Satmex5 and the second is AMC9

Please give the geostationary positions for the satelites expressed in both latitude and longtitude, as well as height in the sky if you know it.

I want to set up an Internet satelite dish in Mexico and I need to know where to aim the dish.

If I have the exact position, I should be able to calculate the bearing to aim the dish on and also the angle above the horizon if I know the latitude.

Any pointers on how to do this would be appreciated.

we need to know the latitude & longitude of where you are going to be..everyones elevation and azimuth are different

Satmex is at 116.8 and AMC9 is at 83 degrees west

Iceberg ....the co-ordinates are 20 degrees 12.15 minutes NORTH
by 96 degrees 45.10 minutes WEST

In your opinion, which of the two satelites mentioned would get the best recetion from that geographic location ?

Here's a neat trick. Go here: http://www.lyngsat.com/tracker/america.html

Select the satellite you want, then click your exact position on the map (if you can, it's quite small). It will tell you all the relevant pointing info.

As I described here:http://www.satelliteguys.us/showthread.php?t=52285 this really will not show any detailed pointing or dish setup info, it simply shows you the relation of the satellite to your general location, above or below the horizon or if you should have a LOS.

If you are talking the best reception question: it really doesn't matter if you have a LOS to the satellite and an active transponder for whatever satellite you are shooting for. I would shoot for the SatMex bird. http://www.lyngsat.com/sm5.html
