So, I went ahead and created a satellite list file with SatcoDX and downloaded it to my dreambox. As I was browsing through the file and playing with it, I compared it with Lyngsat IA5 and noticed that there are many discrepancies between the two. there are quiet a few transponders that have different frequencies, SR, etc between the two. Now the question is which one is correct?

The other question is if I check the Lyngsat, there are a dozen or two TPs that have four digit freqs (3720, 3730, etc). these are not even listed on the SatcoDX list? why?

finally, it is so slowwwwwww. Anybody else using SatcoDX?

They are both correct and they are both wrong. People make mistakes sometimes, and they can be a little off and still be correct. Scans don't always stop in the same place, different receivers will scan different too. The best way to find out which is more correct is to try them for yourself. I'm not going to do it for you, just so you can get your answers. It's just not a big deal to me. Maybe someone else will scan them for you and compare the 100+ channels on IA5 to see which one is the most correct, Satco or Lyngsat. I wish you luck!

We must be looking at different Satco list, because they list them on mine. The first one is listed as an ABC feed and the second one is Nebraska Educational feeds. Both Satco and Lyngsat list them.

If you look at these 2, you should see they both list 4 digit frequencies.

I rarely use it, but I look at it occassionally to see if there's maybe something I'm missing.

The 4 digit H or V are C band. The 5 digit H or V are Ku.
C band listings always follow first in order.

No quality control on fta irds. The foreign standards differ from North America.
They don't have our sats, HD, AC3, MPEG4, to test in manufactoring.. Some fta irds have adjustable scan setings. You really need diferent models to scan &/or find all that exists.
Profit ratio, pre-set price point to hit, before its designed add to the problem.

Some of the old models might end up as the best scanners ever, but are undesirable without a guide.
