As most of you know I SO many of these 18" dishs I am always looking for a new use for them. I thought I would see if it would work in my car and it did.

You are looking at an 18" dish that I pointed to 119W. I use an inverter and a small TV to listen to it. It worked in the parking lot with the window up and I know need to take it on the road.

I just need to find a way to make the dish track the sat.

You are very strange Ken........Thats why you fit right in here : ) great picture and an amazing idea, I am defiantly thinking about adding a satellite dish to my truck, thanks for sharing!

You need a KU dish on your truck Iceberg then you will never miss anything, hey you can watch the Howard Hewes show in the parking lot before work : )

In fact I am visiting a leading (local) manufacturer of mobile satellite antenna systems for the land and marine markets so I will fill you guys in if I learn anything and I hope to also post some pictures.

damn holmes..dont give me any ideas. I'll end up mounting a DirecPC dish on my truck for Sioux games :D:D

if you got a cement bucket dish mount and leaned it over in the back of your truck and have a dish to the side with it. set the elevation.

have a rg6 cable ran out from the cab where you can have a small tv, satellite rec., and power inverter. and then have a male to male extenderon the end.have a male to mail line extender on the cable coming out of the dish too then use a snap on / off rg6 cable like the ones sold at radioshack to connect it. and then have an analog signal meter and another snap on/off cable to point it. keep a wrench with you that you most likely wont use too much since you wont need to tighten the bolts.

Just thinking out of the box :)

Dont take it as a slam Ken...I laugh when I see my relatives and they find out I have 6 dishes, they ask "whatcha picking up...Asian porn?" :D

They stay with their crappy cable and think I'm weird because I have all the dishes set up. But when I can record a b-ball game or hockey game LIVE and UNCUT for them because their cable isn't doing the game then they thank me :)

you have the last laugh!

A friend of mine went boating with a guy in Arizona once, and on his boat he had a DirecTV satellite dish. When the boat was anchored, he'd punch a button and the dish would automagically spin around and lock in on the satellite. He said you could hear the motor making adjustments with the movement of the boat in the swell.

Some people have too much money on their hands....
