I believe I am pointed to 110 right now.

I am looking to pick up the Voom channels, but dont want to deal with a 2nd dish. If I switch from 110 to 61.5 would I lose anything besides the locals? I am getting those in HD OTA anyhow.

I am in same situation here,

I have super dish and a dish 300.
My switch check shows I have satellite signals from 110,119,121 and 148.
When I called CSR they told me that I have to move local dish to 61.5,

Can anyone please let me know by moving my local dish(guess 119) do I loose
anything other than local. As I have OTA HD with 942.

Where do you live?
What programming do you have? Internationals?

I'm trying to figure it out. You must have all your locals on 148 and internationals that are only on 121?

I am in san jose CA. I have South Asian Channel, American Top 60 + local,
+ HD+ trying to get 10-HD-VOOM(already paid 5$).

Oh ok then.

Well the superdish picks up your primary programming, main locals, asian channels, and HD pack.

The 148 dish is only getting you those minor locals for your market.

So if you can find a line of sight to the 61.5 satellite what you can do is swing your 148 satellite dish over to 61.5 and get the voom channels

Thanks Bryan, appreciate your quick reply.

Looks like I have to call someone to realign this, as my local dish is on the edge of my 2nd floor roof, I am scared to climb my roof.

Could you please tell what are those minor channels 148 picks ?< I rember
about 9 channels that CSR told me , I hope yor are talking about the same>.

Also Is it good idea to hire some one to do this ?, will he do ?,

thanks

Here are the 9 channels on 148

KFSF-TV 66 (TeleFutura) Vallejo
KTNC-TV 42 (Azteca) Concord
KMTP-TV 32 (Edu)
KRCB-TV 22 (PBS) Cotati/Santa Rosa
KTEH-TV 54 (PBS) San Jose
KCSM-DT 43 (PBS) San Mateo
KTLN-TV 68 (Rel) Novato
KTSF-TV 26 (Ethnic)
KFTY-TV (Ind) Santa Rosa

Pointing a dish is not a hard thing to do, but if you'd rather have someone sent out to do it then that can be arranged. Dish could charge you a $29 service call to send someone out to try to align your dish to 61.5 (provided you are on DHP or add the warranty for $5.99 prior to scheduling the service call)

I just spoke to CSR about what I am going to miss if I re-align 148 dish to 61.5 to get voom.

Here is the list:

Part 1 (This is same as the previous post)

KFSF-TV 66 (TeleFutura) Vallejo
KTNC-TV 42 (Azteca) Concord
KMTP-TV 32 (Edu)
KRCB-TV 22 (PBS) Cotati/Santa Rosa
KTEH-TV 54 (PBS) San Jose
KCSM-DT 43 (PBS) San Mateo
KTLN-TV 68 (Rel) Novato
KTSF-TV 26 (Ethnic)
KFTY-TV (Ind) Santa Rosa

Part 2. (This came by surprise, channels belongs to AT60)
9416 Good Samritan
9417 Holistic
9418 FECTC
9405 Pentagon
9406 Classical Arts etc

Now I do not have DHP, and think I should not have one.

So I am lookout for someone to realign from outside(will pay 29.99$)

Here are the details from CSR to realign to get VOOM
61.5, Azimuth 93 degree, Elevation 14.

The part to are public interest channels, they will also be available on 61.5.

If you can't find someone locally.

To get the $29 service from dish is pretty simple.

Call up ask to add the warranty for $5.99, then ask to schedule a service call.

Then once the service call is over, call back and cancel the warranty ;)

Hmm, maybe because they know your motives, but normally an alignment call is covered under the warranty.
