Sat 105 not locked

Hi...i have a solo 311 standard receiver with a superdish and just hooked up an HDTV. My signal on the HDTV shows up as "analogue" and is blurry. When i do a "point dish signal" all 3 sats show a strong signal (72-75) but sat 105 does not lock. Could this be the cause of my problem?

Dish has nothing on 105. how do you have the 311 hooked to TV. You need HD Dish box for HD

I'm using the standard coax cable hookup right now. Tried S-video but no difference. Since the TV has a built in digital tuner i thought it get a digital picture. Guess i'll see if i can get an HD receiver from Dishnetwork. Thanks for the info.

The TV will only display whatever is output from the satellite receiver and your satellite receiver is not capable of receiving nor outputting HDTV.

You will need one of the ViP receivers or DVRs to receive and output HDTV.

Connect an OTA antenna to the TV's tuner (AntennaWeb and TV Fool - Home will help you select the type appropriate for your area) and use S-video or composite from the 311. If you want Dish channels in HD or need Dish HD locals from satellite, you will need to upgrade the receiver and dish.
