Wow, Ice... I've never seen one like that! :eek: ...All 3 of mine have the same arrow setup. Is that on a "round" Primestar or an elliptical?
 
No guessing, and those Channel Master AZ-EL mounts are dead-on accurate! :up


What is really nice is that with the elevation adjustment on these antennas, the dish cannot "fall" in response to gravity when the bolts are loosened.

This can be a nuisance when trying to align a motorized dish. My brother used a bit of improvisation and came up with a handy modification that overcomes this.

Basically a flat piece of steel that is sandwiched in between the clamping bracket of the dish along the rear spine of the motor tube (where the dish will be tightened to the motor tube). At the bottom of this piece of flat steel stock, a swivel joint is attached (welded) that is threaded. A piece of all-thread is screwed into this swivel joint with a knob on one end. At the other end, a clamp bracket with another swivel joint is attached to the LNBF support arm at the backside of the dish reflector.

With this mechanism, you may loosen the bolts which hold the dish elevation in place and adjust this "screw-jack" to fine adjust the dish elevation without the dish falling. The dish cannot move on its own even with the bolts loosened as this "screw-jack" holds it in place, just like the older Primestar or Channel Master dishes.

It is really simple and easy to reproduce. Here is a pix of the homemade elevation adjuster attached to a Winegard DS-2076 dish antenna.
