Samsung SIRS-4040R Guide hard to read?

I just signed up for DTV service and picked up a Samsung TIVO receiver, the sirs4040R. My wife and I are having a hard time reading the guide. I have it hooked up through the S-video input on my 35" TV. The guide looks very fuzzy. I have tried both guide formats. It this typical for this receiver? Or, should I return and try another one. Otherwise, the picture quality is very good.

I have that same receiver hooked up to our Pany 27" SD tv. It's as clear as day. I also have it hooked up through S-video.
