Hello all,

I recently purchased a Samsung SIR TS-360 HD reciever. Have had good luck with it so far, except for some audio drop outs on HD channels(HD package & OTA). Anyone else experience this? Anyway the main reason for this post is, i have read in other forums that using the component inputs on the samsung(480i/p) that i can hook my DVD player to these and using the component out on the unit that i can select 720p/1080i and upconvert my DVD movies to the higher resolution. Has anyone done this or know if this is true. If it can be done would many of yourecommend doing it this way or use a direct connection from my DVD player to TV.

Thanks

Yes, you can use the 360 to "upconvert" your DVD's. I have played with it and I find that just going direct to the set was easiest for my particular setup. Plus, the fact that I didn't want to re-do the macro's in my remote.

I did use the upconversion for a while, but, I found going direct from the DVD to the tv clearer (using Monster THX 1000 16ft)
