Q. How many of the S4 items are removed or changed to do this?

I was hoping it would be the same S4 in a rugged case, but from what Ive read, its different from the actual S4.

I have been waiting for this rugged phone, but now am considering just getting the S4 and a good case.

What is the opinion here?

If that's the only difference, I'm god with that ....

Guess ill see what it looks like in persn before desiding ....
I have heard the buttons on the front are actual physical buttons as well.

The Galaxy S4 Active shares much of its internal hardware with the vanilla Galaxy S4, including a quad-core Snapdragon 600 CPU at 1.9GHz, 2GB of RAM, a 1080p (TFT, not AMOLED) display, 2600mAh battery and 16GB of internal storage, expandable via microSD. The camera's taken a minor hit, going from 13MP on the regular GS4 to 8MP on the Active.
The main difference is the "fully sealed design" that the manufacturer's boasting is certified IP67 water and dust resistant . That means the external chassis looks a lot more durable, and the capacitive keys have been replaced with three physical, clicky buttons.

Yep, the camera, the buttons, the design to "ruggedize" it, and the screen is not AMOLED (which may be a good thing). Other than that, the specs are the same.

Be a good thing ?

Please explain, trying to learn before I jump.

Just found out that the S4 Active has a TFT LCD screen has been used instead of a Super AMOLED panel (from phone arena's preview)
