Is anyone able to receive the two channels at 11828/V/5789 and, if so, what's on it? Did a blind scan and then even plugged in this frequency in my receiver and nothing came up (no signal quality). Get the Pentagon Channel on this bird with no problem.

AMC1 the skew is wacky. Its off by 25 degrees or so. If you manually skewed the LNB it may come in but I havent been able to get it yet :( (I'm not climbing on my roof to skew the LNB)

Same here no signal on thet TP. :(

In fact if I stay on this transponder the signal rises to 50% quality then drifts to zero again every few minutes!

I did some work on the dish at our local Safeway store here. It is encrypted as far as I know. They use it for in store staff training. I don't really think it's anything you'd want to watch............unless you want to be trained in working at a grocery store!

I get both also without having to skew. It's just a channel that looks like they play in their breakroom telling you how to stock the dairy coolers, frozen food freezers, etc correctly and other safety videos.

Are you sure? My polarity settings for AMC-1 are the same as most other birds. On my Chaparral Monterey C/Ku receiver the optimum settings for horizontal is at 105 and vertical is at 185 and I can rotate it between 90 and 220... these numbers are really meaningless, they don't represent degrees, they just tell how many pulses to send to the polarotor servo motor to change polarity. If I try to fine turn skew on AMC-1 from the normal H/V settings the signal level drops off.

Attached are a few screen captures from the Safeway channel I did a few minutes ago along with the channel setup screen. Their 'programming' - and I use the word loosely :) repeats every few minutes... while composing this message I think I heard the 'turn the lights off' propaganda about 10 times!

Skewing the LNB 25 degrees east did the trick for me -- this channel went from breaking up at about 35% on my Fortec to at least 70% after some trial and error.

cool :)

I know its been mentioned that AMC1 is wacky on the skew. I can geta couple feeds and Pentagon on this satellite but nothing else

disco...is it +25 or -25 off "normal skew"?

I think I pretty much get all the channels on AMC1, but if I adjust the skew for the difference, my signal increases significantly. I don't adjust it though, because I rarely watch AMC1, and I would have to readjust when I went to the other sats. So, I let it alone. On the ole BUD though, the skew is preprogrammed with the 4dtv, so it's sort of moot.

I have not boon on that sat for some time, However when I was on there I got my best signal with 0 (zero) skew and I got this channel pretty strong. Also it was never encrypted when I last had it...had some training stuff on it but was pretty pedestrian for my tastes.
