Safeway Network

Is the Safeway network still broadcasting? I haven't been able to get a signal on that transponder for a couple of days.

Well I just took a look and they are both there. Could have been down or off 33 hours ago when you asked, or maybe even off for the last 3 days? Since they are not channels I watch, I wouldn't know. Hope you are able to find them now, Good Luck!

Thanks for checking. They did show up tonight on a scan, although the signal quality is very low (teens).

Does anyone else have trouble with this bird? Even the Pentagon channel is only coming for me in the high 40's/low 50's on my Fortec.

I am tracking on target with USALS for all other satellites - I just tweaked my dish settings earlier this week.

This Satellite is said to be "Off Center" and is about 20 degrees off. If you have a fixed dish, you can turn the lnbf slightly to help with the "Skew" and it should improve a little. If you have a skewable lnb, you can make the appropriate adjustments in the Set-up Menu's.
Or if you have plenty of time on your hands, you can walk out to the dish and skew the lnbf while you are on this Satellite. And when you watch the rest of the satellites, be sure you go back out and put the lnbf back where it was.

yep. AMC1 KU is off by 20-25 degrees OPPOSITE normal skew

So here in MN the LNB for AMC1 at optimum looks about the same as if it was at SBS6 (and here in MN IA6 is true south)

Safeway's still going, getting about 73signal 60quality on my 5' skewable dish. Little low-Pentagon channel's 75/75. Found an nbc SD feed too, prob wont be there long.
The skew is offset on this sat, If I couldn't 'skew' I would have a primestar pointed at this satellite.

nope. The LNB is skewed wrong in this case

I can get Pentagon pretty good and Safeway iffy but nothing else on it on my motorized (and I use Diseqc 1.2)

Move the dish to AMC1 then very carefully skew the LNB 20 degrees until you get a good signal.

Thanks for the tip, although I probably don't park on AMC1 enough to warrant the time & energy to skew the LNB just to pick up a few signal points!
