hello all, a newbie here, so I would greatly appreciate help. Have searched the threads and not found my answer. Haven't gone HD yet, so I am working with standard satellite receiver. In order to maximize picture quality to tv, have run s-video directly to tv. However, with only one S video output on the satellite receiver, my AV receiver and remainder of the components suffer. I have tried both ways and I definitley get better pq by direct to tv. My AV receiever switches components only with the same type (all rca, all svideo, etc.). Therefore, except for direct s video to tv, all components are run through AV receiver with rca's since there is not a second svideo output on the satellite receiver. Feel I would get much better pq for my other components if I had a second svideo to the av receiver. Soooo....finally getting to my question (assuming the above is sorta correct); whats the best way to get a second s video feed from the satellite receiver?

1. Doesn't appear that I can find a receiver with 2 svideo outputs.
2. S-video splitter-won't I loose pq, or is it still worth it?
3. other ideas?

equipment: std "10" model dirct tv receiver, sony 42"tv, kenwood 7080 a/v receiver, jvc svhs, pioneer 320 dvd-r

thanx.

Try searching for Cable Electronics (CE) Labs AV400SV it is a 1 input 4 output distribution amp. It does "S"video and composite video. Guesstimate around $100.

It could be a problem with your AV receiver's s-video input connection. I have a AV receiver that I find no difference in picture quality so my s-video goes through the AV receiver.

thanx for the help folks, appreciate it. I think I need to get on the HD bandwagon, then this won't matter anymore...
