Then the logical choice would have been Pujols, once again. He had the numbers, he is a team leader, and he helped his team make it to the playoffs. I'm tickled pink that Ryan got the award if Pujols didn't, but there is no good reason why the voting should have been as dramatically in Ryan's favor after the year Pujols had.
