I get that this is a DirecTV dish with some kind of multiswitch with the whole thing looking toasted from a lightning strike or something. It's the back story that is the most interesting. Is this just a hoax or is there something more to the story?

Then again, I doubt you could get $650 if you just advertised it as a burned up DirecTV dish.

That's the Directv dish they were using at the Space Station. The installer didn't secure properly it and it came down to earth. Don't you remember Directv offered satellite TV for the Space Station?
