RTV 87W move?

83W RTV is doing ok as usual in Ohio. I've thought of raising my 8 foot dish up on another pole..In the summer I lose 58w to 72W & 137W on Cband...
KU seems to be ok between 72w and 125W....I may trim the one tree that is messing with 87W on CBand to see if RTV improves. I'm getting too old and lazy to climb like I used too.

I went outside and tweaked my lnb on Cband and RTV popped in a solid signal now on 87W. Bounces between 58-70..enough to keep it locked in no problem.
So RTV's signal and my huge tree weren't my issues after allShift+R improves the quality of this image. Shift+A improves the quality of all images on this page.

I also noticed that their 83W transponder is a lot weaker now and is now one of my weakest Ku band transponders. I can barely receive it using a 36" dish here in Canada. Something must be wrong at their uplink center.

I'm just a couple hours down the road from you, and am currently getting it at around 63-65 on the AZBox Ultra (and similar readings on the Pansat) on my 75e (on the 4 degrees off-centre LNB). About normal for me (though sometimes it is higher).

Ku feed looks normal here. Which it should, as nothing has changed.

No change in the bitrate.... any chance it can be tweaked/raised a bit? Some shows on RTVE and PBJE are suffering.

The source material on shows like Skippy must be poor, as they show the effects more than some others.
Would like to see some of change of programming (more of a change than what just happened for the 4th quarter) Please try to add some series like Harbour Command, or Jungle Jim.

I don't want to sound all negative, I do enjoy what is there.

I have not been able to scan in the feed on 87W on my Azbox Prem +, is there a cure for this? I should be able to get the signal, I am using a 10' mesh buttonhook BUD, and usually have no trouble getting a lock on DBV-S2. I have not tried the 137W feed yet.
Thanks,

A solid 87% signal on Tuesday and 0% signal only 3 days later on the Luken MUX on SES2. What happened? I even tried using the Openbox S9 receiver with no success. Other transponders on that satellite are being received just fine.

That's odd. They actually cranked up the signal a few points since they moved everything. Coming in great here, but I'm using a 10 footer, not an 8 footer.
I did have issues at first, but now everything locks and stays locked right away when I first motor to this sat.

I'm not certain why the S9 would make a difference? I don't even get a lock on this with my S9. The mux @ 137W..no problems with that one. My dish is 7.5', but this doesn't seem to be related to dish size, since some in here with 10 footers can't seem to lock onto it as well..at least that's the sense I'm getting after reading thru the thread.

I haven't tried in a cpl of days, so maybe I should go and see if it works now.

had to scan 87w with openbox last night. deleted all channels first and all transponders. then scanned. i think there were about 48 channels. weatherhd came back in ok. charlie

The Luken muxes are on 87W 3920 H 29125 and 137W 4000 H 29125

The other ones have been turned off. Sounds like whoever sent the update can't get the new mux

Are there any Luken channels on 137w, that aren't on 87w? I might be able to get this sat now that the leaves have dropped, but it isn't worth it if there's nothing different.

Thanks!

sure...affiliate feeds

but in regards to the national feeds...other than Hawaii time zone feeds probably not...unless the west coast feeds were pulled from 87W? I havent been able to lock that since they dropped the other 2 TP's

It appears that East Coast/Central affiliates are on 87.
West Coast and Hawaii on 137.

87 is extremely weak everywhere from everything that I have heard and observed.
Can be done on a 10 foot dish, but does not always work, with frequent level changes.
137 Luken mux is stronger than the Alaska mux on my system here in Wisconsin.
Go figure.

87W has been working fine here for days with my 10 footer. Locks every time right away now, where before I had to turn on a non Luken channel first, and then the Luken channels would lock. It also now has a power level that's up about 5-7 points, so they must have cranked up the power a little. No, I do not have a tree near this sat, so new power level is not from leaves dropping. I have made no changes to my big dish in the last week to explain.

I'm using an orthofeed with Norsat 8115's on a Perfect Ten dish, and a MicroHD receiver. 77% quality from Mid Michigan

I haven't done a thing to my dish, but yesterday I managed to lock that mux @ 87W and scan in 32 channels. Today tho, absolutely zilch. Can't even get a lock on it again. Maybe some dish tweaking is what I need to do?

Receiving the MUX on 87W with a solid 87% signal quality on an 8' dish, but I have noticed that the picture quality could be improved.

I've had no luck locking these with a 6 footer, here in southeastern Ontario. I guess I'd better start looking for a 10' dish and see if I can pull them in.
