I have a reception problem with RTP on AMC4 that I find very odd. I have a 90cm FortecStar dish and an Invacomm QPH-031 LNB on an SG-2100 and a SV-8000. My quality on 12033 H 3.003 on AMC4 is very very low in the AM (say 6:00AM to 10:00AM), and the quality increases little by little every hour and becomes watchable by noon or so. By the evening (say after 5:00PM) the signal is nice and strong (75-80%) for the remainder of the evening.

This has been the case for the past several days. I have ruled weather out as the cause, as weather has been fair the last few days. Other channels on AMC4 seem not to be affected like RTP. Has anyone else experienced this? I call my friends with similar setups in the Winnipeg area and all are reporting signal loss in the AM as well. Any suggestions on how I might remedy this? Seems very very strange to me :(

weird. I'm just down the road in Minneapolis and RTPi is maxing the meter out on both the Coolsat 5000 & Pansat 1500. I wonder if the dish is maybe off just a little bit?

What kind of quality numbers are you getting on other transponders on that satellite?

As of 6:00PM CST all is well in RTP land on AMC 4 here in Winterpeg. Here is a listing of the other TP's as of 6:00PM CST:

11822 75%
11983 60%
12020 45%
11708 30%
11860 30%
12060 15%
12120 60%
12033 80%

Looks like my dish my not be perfectly aligned, however it does not explain the 12033 TP droping off to next to nothing in the AM. I will post quality values in the AM just to compare to these. Minnie definately not that far from me either, very very interesting. What kind of quality you receiving say from 8:00AM to 11:00AM??

I have been in touch with a couple of folks I setup with similar setups as mine to receive RTP on AMC4 and they are all experiencing the same issue, only in the AM and only recently. Weird weird weird.

those numbers seem a little low unless the meter on the SV isnt the best

on my setup (30" dish and Coolsat 5000) 11822, 12033 and 11983 are their at max or near it. Seems odd that it goes out only in the morning.

If all transponders were going out I could say satellite wobble

(I'm at work between 8-11 so I dont know what signals I am getting then)

RTP on AMC4 down right now for me (right now being 9:15 CST). Usually up at this time. Anyone else experiencing this? All my other TP's have the same readings as 6:30 readings :( Oh RTP why why why :)

As promised here are my readings from 8AM today:

11822 75%
11983 74%
12020 45%
11708 25%
11860 35%
12060 30%
12120 55%
12033 76% (of course RTP is working this AM)

I will continue to monitor, but all looks good this AM, looks like RTP is making a liar of me. I don't mind though at least it's working ;)
