we have an application which interfaces with the Hughes HAH-SA, Direct TV. We use RS232 to control the receivers remotely. Somehow, something has chnaged and our codes to change the channels are now just going to TNT. Has something architecturally changed recently?

The channels have been shifting around a bit lately. Is it possible that TNT is the nearest valid channel to the one you're trying to change to?
Did you look to see what firmware revision the receiver is running? That will likely tell you that nothing has changed recently.
