ok, I have a simple question. Currently I have an hd receiver and a dual sd dvr in the house. This week we got a second hdtv (won it) and I want another hd receiver for obvious reasons. However, even though dish just gave the dvr's last month as part of a freebie to get me to re up my contract and not switch to direct, they won't do anything for me now. If I buy a dish network hd receiver on ebay for example, would it work at my house? I know the old receivers had cards...not sure how it works now. I thought maybe since I have the programming and am already getting it on the other receiver this might work. Thanks for your responses.

You can always buy a legitamate receiver and add it to your account or even replace an existing leased receiver. However this does not let you out of your contract/comitment period. :)

See ya
Tony

thanks Tony, I just spoke with Dish, they will upgrade the dvr for 99 bucks, not exactly what I wanted since they would have given me the receiver for free last month when I got the sd dvr. Personally, I would pay it but the wife isn't so understanding.
