The reason it is good is mainly, in my opinion that 1.) Satellite Subscribers with sub par On Demand options can enjoy it. 2.) It can be used portably. Meaning, I can take my roku with me, or use another roku to stream shows I pay for by typing in my username and password. Of course that would be if I pay for HBO. The draw back is people who use others accounts to access the content wrongfully. As in my case with ESPN 3. They just picked up the KHL. Usually, I wouldn't give a damn. But with the NHL in a lockout, I can see the players i like still play. Now Dish doesn't have access to ESPN 3 due to the Disney dispute. I pay for access to everything ESPN, except ESPN Classic. So, I use my parents FiOS account. According to ESPN, I'm wrongfully accessing the content. HBO would hold the same for people who do just that. Before subscribing to Cinemax I also used the parents FiOS account to access MAXgo. Mom and Dad get every movie service, except HBO. In my case, using MAXgo was one of the deciding factors for subscribing to Cinemax on my own. That and it's three bucks cheaper on Dish to hvae Cinemax than HBO. It's the movies I care about.
