Disappointing, always more irrationality and FUD rather than discussion when it comes to topics like these.
How is not wanting to remove or drastically change the kickoff being irrational?

The same guy that rushes the QB when they kneel down, yeah he cares...
Then why are they rushing the QB and pissing off the other teams by doing this? It almost started a brawl the other day.
Then the other teams should rush him on the sidelines and take his a** out...Because he won a game in college because of it, and a game has been lost in the NFL due to a fumbled snap on a kneel.

Just as many are hurt at the line of scrimmage...There's quite a difference between a shove at the LOS and players running full steam down the field and colliding.

Outlawing tackling would make the game a lot safer as well.
I wonder how many kickoffs result in touchbacks, placing the ball at the 20-yard line, or runs that don't get past the 20-30 yard line ? I don't think that the small number of times that a kickoff is ran back 90-100 yard for a touchdown would skew the "average kickoff return" either as it occurs so rarely.
I mean, unless it is ran back, kickoffs are rather boring. It's not like punts where a kicking team player can run downfield as fast as the ball, time things just right, and blast the punt returner at the right instance (presuming he doesn't call for a fair catch).
