Robert Vaughn, whose Napoleon Solo on NBC's spy yarn The Man From Uncle set TV's 1960s standard for suavity and crimebusting cool, died today after a brief battle with acute leukemia. He was 83. His manager Matthew Sullivan confirmed the news to Deadline.

Man From Uncle was a great show, we were all glued to the TV set on Friday nights to see the latest capers assigned to Illya and Napoleon by their boss, played by the veteran actor Leo G. Carrol. Who died way back in 1972. I never watched much Man from UNCLE, but I sure did watch Topper. But maybe I'm older than many here.
