I have a DVR box, not sure of the model though (maybe 500? Ive had it for about 3 years) and Im looking to replace it with a two tuner box like the 625. Is there any way to rip the shows stored on my current DVR to my PC before I return it? I have a lot of stuff on there, including many World Cup games that I dont want to lose when I get the new box

Only in ways that we cannot discuss here. Check out yahoo groups. That's all I have to say about that.

You could transfer the recordings to your computer thru the video / audio outputs of the DVR into you computer. This would not be "RIPPING", but tranfering thru the analog output.

Can you transfer to a pocketdish, then back to a different reciever than the one you got the program from, assuming both recievers supported pocketdish through the USB of course.
