RIP Matt Gonzales

Some of you may remember Matt Gonzales AKA MattG from the DISH Dirt Team, who when he worked for DISH Network was very active helping people here at SatelliteGuys with their DISH Network issues. He was very much a big part of SatelliteGuys then.

I have been informed by his sister that Matt passed away after a medical emergency on Wednesday, February 12th.

For those who remember him, or those who wored with Matt, there will be a celebration of life for him, to which the details are below.

Wow - was not expecting to see this today. I went back to my direct messages and found a thread from 2017 where Matt helped me with my account. I chatted and called to Dish multiple times about Flex Pack not being an option on my account, and no one was able to figure it out, and ultimately I was told by Dish that my account was not eligible for the Flex Pack. I messaged Matt and he was able to dig in and get it working within a couple of message exchanges - the issue was some old deactivated receivers that had a G3 card was preventing Flex Pack from being on my account, and Matt was able to work some magic to fix the account.

Matt was the very first member of DIRT that I ever dealt with all the way back to 2013. He helped me several more times over the years. Was always quite caring and helpful, and speaking to him on the phone he seemed happy and genuine. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends and may god comfort them.
