Any forum members live in the Richmond, VA area? My 920 needs to be remapped and authorized for free channels and such and I cannot see G1. Anyone close? If so please PM me!

Use G0-5.

Using different providers over the years, I've used G1 - G5 - and G0. G5 I think was only used for activating or rehits, while G1 and G0 were used for mapping and programming guide. Sometime back I received a message from my provider, they were no longer using G0 for updating, all future updates would be on G1. Shortly after that my dish started automatically going to G1 instead of G0 for updates. Several years ago, it used to be on G1 and they started using G0, for why I don't know. I'm talking about the Menu setting for moving dish for automatic updates. Anyway, to my point, I was under the impression that they no longer used G0 for updates. I could be wrong. Or, it could be the particular provider (Netlink). I'm no longer with that provider and my provider (NPS) uses G1. Also I figured the different providers got together and started using the same one for cost savings.

For maps nearly all premo movie channels carry the data, Showtime, Starz and HBO, for activating or rehits Galaxy-10 and Galaxy-1 are used often, though I think you can get hits and stuff from the other movie channels I'm not sure, the only thing Galaxy-1R has extra is the IPG thats it.

The problem is that I cannot see any farther west than 116.

Hmm now that can be a problem, I am not sure if any on NPS's reuplinks carry data for hits or maps, you may want to contact them on that.

I had to re load last summer, went to my old notes which said go toG0 (10) and I did, waited an hour, nothing happened. Then I remembered that the updates change to G1, went there to TP 3 and it came up in no time.:) You might be SOL if you can't get to G1.

I can't get G1, I do a master reset every year, G1-3 and G0-5 are the same, the only thing that G1-3 has that G0-5 do not is the IPG.
