rib rack unhappiness

Has anyone used the below rib rack? When I tried it, it was like it prevented the heat from getting to the middle of the ribs. Center sections seemed under done, even the rub looked under cooked. I'm pretty sure they were completely thawed before cooking. Maybe next time I'll use every other slot to ensure even cooking, or go back to laying 'em flat.

How do you folks prepare your ribs in a smoker?

Yikes! That thing looks like something they use down in Gitmo.:rolleyes: Seriously, I've never seen a rib rack that looked like that.

That looks like the Weber Rib Rack. I have it and used it only once so far. No complaints here. I didn't really notice any difference in cooking more evenly or anything, so the only time I use it is if I need to fit more ribs on the smoker during a session.
