I bought an RF remote for an HR24 and followed all the instructions and the remote does not work at all. The final step is to type in the last 4 of the RID number but I get nothing. I reset and tried again several times to no avail. Can anyone lend an assist? Thanks in advance.

Is the RF a DTV remote or a third party brand? Some RF remotes, though cool, wont work under RF mode with DTV boxes. They would work using the old "Line of Sight" method though.

Try this :
To reset all the functions of the remote control to the
factory defaults (the original, out-of-the-box settings),
follow these steps:
1. Press and hold the MUTE and SELECT keys at the same
time until the green light flashes twice, then release
both keys.
2. Using the number keys, enter 9-8-1. (The green light
flashes 4 times.)
Try this :

The on-screen instructions walk you through the entire process. I was surprised how easy it was to reprogram a new remote control, though I did have re-program the DVR and AVR settings as well.
I will be headed to the customers house today and will let you know. By the way, I meant to say last 6 digits of the RID number...my bad.
