I think that ANY TV with a tuner will have the capacity for NTSC. There are millions of homes that are connected to cable systems that currently output NTSC, many don't even use converter boxes. Also some low powered stations still haven't converted yet. Most people who buy TVs have no idea what ATSC or NTSC is, they just want their TV to work.

Cablecos generally use QAM, a version, I suppose, of NTSC. Channel assignments and spacing are a bit different than OTA NTSC. My TVs let me hook a coax up, and I had to select "air" or "cable" - reflecting the different schemes.

As a follow up, I got the Dynex TV (Model # DX-26L150A11) and it works fine with Dish RF/Coax/Standard def output. The 622 RF out was/is set for cable channel 77 and the TV tuned it in fine.

The only issue is - and this is not Dynex specific - when I Zoom the TV in so the HD channels fill the screen, the Dish Guide and Pause bar truncate because of their screen positioning. I'm assuming this is just something I have to live with if zooming down sized coax "HD" channels on a 16/9 TV.

Now to search around the forums to see if I can get a Dish remote code for Dynex... (EDIT - FOUND - Code 720)
