Revolution

All this jericho talk got me interested. I remember when it was on I watched the 1st episode but that was all. So yesterday I decided to watch a couple episodes on netflix. Well, I am now on episode 10. I just could not stop watching. I now see why there are comparisons with revolution. I can also now agree that the acting and story in revolution, at least so far, are no match for jericho. I cannot believe it only lasted a season and a half. If that show couldn't make it, revolution sadly has no chance for survival.

I just finished re-watching season 1 of Jericho on Netflix. The only disappointment is the seven episode arc that was season 2 really loses the magic for me, but season 1 is just great entertainment.

And after all this time, I still says NUTS.

Jericho had great premise. The vice president of the U.S. sounded and acted like then current V.P. Cheney. Many accused him of being the real power behind Bush. So the idea of a despotic, power hungry, V.P. rigging the destruction of many big cities in the country in order to achieve a power grab was very timely and sounded not only plausible ,but likely. But the entire idea of something causing the entire world to lose the ability to generate power or electricity , does not. This entire show is a rip off of the Hunger Games and of Jericho. And as Jericho , as much as I like it, it will quickly lose steam and get cancelled. If it is still on by the new year , I will be surprised. The EVENT on NBC was an alien fantasy, but it was much more interesting to me than this show.

IF Revolution could give even a fragment of reality in it's premise of why the entire world loses electricity ,except for some secret group , I might be interested in watching. But as I keep saying , if you think about reality, if the world lost the ability to generate electricity all at once and planes fell from the skies, the nuclear power plants in just this country alone would all melt down within days. There are over 48 of them in the continental U.S. alone. Not to mention the other countries of the world with nuclear power plants. Within about 4 -5 days, without the ability to cool the rods they would melt down and leak nuclear radiation clouds over most of the country, causing terrible radiation sickness and mass deaths. Especially, since no one had a car that worked , they couldn't evacuate. Not to mention , without communication , there would be no way to inform anyone of the clouds of radiation. But on this show, we are supposed to believe that the country & world didn't have this happen. The ecology had pretty much repaired itself and the drinking water is fine to drink from streams and lakes and rivers and from the sky itself. I simply can't buy it.:hand:

I hate the "Lost" rip-off "someone's not going to make it" episodes. I have to admit that Charlie does get on my nerves also, but I doubt she'll be the one not to make it past the next episode(although it'd be a gutsy call if she was).

Glad to see some back story coming in. hope it lasts long enough to give us the answers we seek.

The ratings are down a bit, but they are actually quite good for an NBC scripted drama.

ABC: "Castle" (10.3 million, 7.0/11)
NBC: "Revolution" (8.4 million, 5.2/8)
CBS: "Hawaii Five-0" (7.7 million, 5.1/8)

Yea those are pretty good numbers for a show on NBC.

I think I am done with this. For me it just isn't that interesting.

Well,I started watching episode 3 and fell asleep before it finished.Having a harder time paying attention to it.

I watched episode2 last evening at 8pm via DVR and I feel asleep half way through. The concept of this show is pretty good, but as a huge Jericho fan, this version just seems water downed version of it.

Cheers, K

I have been watching jericho on netflix (17 episodes over the weekend) and if you compare the two then yes, you will be vastly disappointed. I still like it though, better than nothing. :)

Actually I would prefer NOTHING, to watching this bomb.

I'm actually going along for the train ride since so many people are watching. I'm not sure why they're watching (perhaps there is no other sci-fi on network television and very little on cable) but the are watching. Anyway, I may stick around until the train wreck. Might be fun. :)

Watched ep3 last night off Hulu Plus...despite being somewhat entertained, it took me 1.5 hours to watch it (and they say caffeine is suppose to keep you awake...ha!)

Cheers, K

The kill rate on this show is terrible.

I have a feeling I am going to drop this one. I may record the rest of the season though ... and archive it ... for in between seasons when nothing else is on.
