Revolution

I am still watching this show , even though to me the entire premise isn't credible. Here is something else I thought of. With no basic supplements in their diets , like vitamins, after 15 years , these people would look a little rough. No way to grow potassium or bananas . Without citrus they would get rickets , a disease that would of killed a lot of them. Without antibiotics simple infections that are easily treated today , would of caused a lot of deaths. A simple abscess in your mouth could of killed you. Charlie and her brother would be of age to grow in their wisdom teeth. Without pulling these , their entire mouths would hurt and their teeth could grow in sideways causing infection and death. But yet just about every person on the show has white, straight teeth and their has been no dental or medical help for 15 years. I still can not fathom how everyone can drink out of the standing water ,without boiling the water. And as I have already pointed out, there would be massive radiation clouds that would of killed a of not only people ,but animals across the entire country and planet ,where ever the nuclear power plants were located and meleted down.

My question is this: For what reason would someone create a device that blocks all electrical engines and electricity in general from working? What do they have to gain from it? Cause it's not like they get any power ,unless it is to be a dictator over these little militia republics that sprang up . At least JERICHO had a good premise behind the bombings of the main U.S. cities. A despotic Vice President that wanted to steal power . Sounded very credible and likely in the times the show was created in. This show will really have to come up with some out of this world idea to make this credible.

My wisdom teeth came in, no problem. I'm 52 and still have them, so that one isn't going to kill to millions.
There's enough vitamin C in garden vegetables that can be grown in northern US climates that you won't get rickets. In the pilot, the village had a garden area.
I would imagine that there would be enough dentists and herbalists around that survived that at least teeth could be pulled when needed...painfully though.
People survived the Dark Ages...this is roughly equivalent...

Quite simply rough haggard people with bad teeth do not generate the ratings of wholesome looking athletes....

Funny. But compare this show to the post apocalyptic world of the Walking Dead. The characters on that show look the part . No running water or modern bathroom facilities. They are dirty, their clothes are ripped and torn and filthy. You can almost smell the B. O. coming off the screen and their ratings are pretty damn good. So I guess the cable channels, like AMC are just better at making the unbelievable , believable vs the Networks ,like Nbc and their athletes.

I must admit after having discovered The Walking Dead Marathon this weekend, and becoming a fan of the show, watching Revolution is a huge anti-climax. TWD is intense, well-written, well-acted, compelling and dramatic. Revolution...well, it's on at 10:00 PM.

Looks like the bad guys just LOVE Nora's abdomen. It got a knife in it for the second time on this last episode. $100 she gets an infection and dies on the next episode. I guess the writers did OK with the train but the bomb in the log was like something out of Loony Toons. Looks like Charlie is the de facto leader now and is bossing the big uncle around. Google-guy should be dead. I guess I'll keep watching since there is nothing else on at 10 PM on a Monday except for more mindless reality crap. They showed a map of how the USA is divided up. There appears to be a Wasteland. No Monroe love for Canada?

Where are you? I'm right smack-dab in the middle of the Georgia Federation.

Nice map. It implies industrial capability for printing such a map with all the nice lettering etc. As well as communication and logistics necessary for the administration of such large areas. None of which I've seen in a world that seems to be in 1800 level technology. I'd expect instead to see a few dozen individual countries each run by a warlord, king, or self styled General. (Try "The Valley-Westside War" by Harry Turtledove for a good depiction of it.)

Oh well... It'll be gone soon enough, like V, Terra Nova, Alcatraz, FlashForward, etc.

I thought that this division was too broad. To have this kind of organization in 15 years and set up these massive territories is not an easy thing to do! I expected about a dozen territories. I like the boundaries that make sense. The Monroe Repiublic's boundaries should follow the appalachains instead of just a line in the sand. Same with the Texas/Wastland border. No reason not to intrude on what was Eastern NM to some natural mountain range or river valley.

I don't know about the other " regions " but the Monroe Republic kind-of makes a little sense -- if the writers wanted to make it look like Monroe is pretty powerful. The Mississippi and Ohio rivers would make sense as major boundaries. The eastern part is a little more sketchy. Hard to tell but it looks like the division there is the Kanawha/New and Roanoke rivers. A lot of that section is dammed up but would probably be more even if the dams failed. I know a lot of areas in the South would be flooded if the TVA dams broke. I would figure that Monroe would have Appalachia pretty-well fortified so the Georgia boys can't sneak in over the mountains. LOL A lot of folks in West Virginia are pretty self-sufficient and experts at game hunting, so I'm betting we will get a few stories about skirmishes in that area.

I assume DC and the surrounding area is flooded, returned to its natural state, and is why Philadelphia is the capitol of Monroe. Same thing with the Wasteland. Vegas is probably toast, literally, without a water supply. Same would go for a lot of Southern California too, like Palm Springs and Palm Desert.

I'll keep watching, it's TV so it doesn't need to be 100% accurate.

Watching this and TWD, makes me wish CBS wouldn't have canceled Jericho.

Did you know that the producers of Jericho authorized a graphic novel of "season 3" of Jericho? (And season 4). I bought it the other day from Amazon. Only read a little, but pretty good. Not the same as a show, but decent.

Georgia Federation baby,poop on Monroe!!

Thanks for sharing that rockymtnhigh I'll have to check those out.Still wishing for a Jericho movie or mini series though.
