Returning Joey/Remote

For those who have, do they ask for the remote as well? Going to send one back and mirror the other since the two TVs involved are NEVER watched simultaneosly. So, just a waste of $7.00 per month. If they do want remote back, how would I set up a 21.00 remote for the mirrored set, specifically, setting the remote address. Can't seem to be able to find one for the Joey via sys info.
 
When I returned my two leased Joeys in favor of one owned one, the instructions said to return the remotes. DIRT allowed as how that was not necessary. I kept both remotes, never heard a peep.

I would not send back the remote. They are not going to use those remotes for anything and they have no proof that the original one didn't break and you purchased a new one. I always keep my remotes.
 
I honestly don't think Dish normally expects the remote to come back. Very unlikely they would refurbish them. They sell very cheaply on ebay.
