Retailer Chat Recap: March 18, 2010

I know that Marquette isn't exactly a metropolis, but directv managed
to get us our HD locals, I figured dish would be quick to match. I'd rather have
no locals and be able to get HD networks from somewhere else

Bah. No more word on Evansville, IN local HDs....

Well, they are moving most of the national programming off 77W. Maybe they'll be using the space for some additional HD LIL. That's where they had you penciled-in last Fall before pulling the plug. Otherwise, I don't know. They operate in a strange fashion which may make sense to them but leaves us scratching our head a good deal of the time.

So...will the locals that are suppose to be on the new satellite (Augusta, GA) be up and online for viewers after the next uplink on wed.? Any chance?

Hey scott, i'm specifically referring to the lake charles, la market that has no local channels with dish or directv. I'm currently a directv customer and have heard that dish might get them first. Any heads up on when the locals will come on
in my area.

Dish is kinda reluctant to project future HD locals. They've been wrong before, and once burned, twice wary.

And from a New Orleans boy with relatives in Lake Charles - How you like your part of Texas?
;)

i'm not talking about HD locals. Just plain ol' locals. We have NO locals. I heard
before on here they were coming on the end of march. Are they being delayed
again?

The three locals for Lake Charles are indeed uplink and being tested on eastern arc. I'm sure they are waiting for the new local channels laws to be passed so they can bring in CBS & ABC since Lake Charles does not have those channels in their DMA.
