Altanta will no longer be available as a distant network as it will be moving to the 110 slot on a spotbeam.

Those getting Atlanta as a distant network will be getting New York instead.

Are those SD or HD locals?

Leslie harper comes in and tells us how to make the tv1 remote into a UHF controlable remote. The secret is in the key. :)

This is something they should (but probably wont) show on Mondays Charlie Chat.

Scott, does that mean Atlanta HD Locals will remain on sat. 129?

Yes Atlanta locals in HD will be on 129.

They have just taken their last question which means this is a wrap of this months Retailer chat.

Not much to report other then locals are shuffling and that most folks with a Dish 300 will need an upgrade soon.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in the chat!

Hmm. My father gave me the spare keys that came with his remote replacement. I just looked in the box and the green "1" key has just the number 1 on one side and a number 1 with a UHF logo on the other. Take off your battery compartments covers tonight and pull the key, flip it, and reinsert it. Is this all we need to do?

Also, I converted my #2 remote for my 622 into another #1 remote. We only use it in single mode and it is only hooked up to one tv. The second #1 remote acts as a backup when the kiddies lose it in the couch or it goes AWOL as these things do from time to time.

Thanks for the response. This is really disappointing news. I had hoped that they would switch the Atlanta HD locals to the 61.5 satellite. I would love to hear the rational from someone at Dish Network as to why Washington DC gets their HD locals on 61.5, but not Atlanta. If the goal was to have a one-dish setup, then doesn’t that apply to Washington DC? I would much rather have a two-dish setup with strong signals on all satellites.

Is it that simple? Flip the #1 key to make it UHF? I never understood why they made it IR only anyway!

couple reasons

-Washington DC cant see 129 due to footprint. It cuts off in PA.
-HD DOES NOT qualify for one dish...just the SD channels.

Hmm! If HD doesn't require a one-dish setup under the law, then there's no reason that Atlanta HD locals shouldn't be on 61.5. Especially, since many current Atlanta customers already have two dishes for 110/119 and 61.5.

Once E10 is operational, those locals on 61.5 are moving to 110 to comply with the one dish rule. And those HD channels MIGHT move to 110 too

There are a ton of you wanting to upgrade in 3 weeks to get one for $99 but that does not mean you will necessary get yours in April.

Did they ever end up shipping 10,000 of them in February, like "someone" said they would?
