Anyone had a problem getting your DVR to 'talk' to your DHCP server?
I had my DHCP server set to "manual" when the tech plugged in my DVR today.
However, now I set it to 'dynamic' (and I know it works..I plugged in another device to it and it successfully provided the IP info) but the DVR won't work.
It seems to 'hang' on the 'reset connection' screen and won't fill out the IP/DNS info. Keeps staying blank.
I have a bad feeling the DVR is stuck and needs a true REBOOT since the router was initially not set correctly but how do I do this?
Is there any way to reset the router to the point where it will look for a broadband connection 'fresh'?
The tech breezed in and out so fast today that I didn't get a chance to ask him this.
Any help please! I'm getting hit with $5/mo charge and I have no phone line so I was counting on the broadband connection working.
Has anyone had this trouble? DISH tech support doesn't cover this..and there's no way to enter the info manually so if it doesn't 'magically' connect, I'm stuck.
Is it possible I have a bad DVR is there a known issue out there in this situation?
