Report: Natalie Morales, Willie Geist Fired From Today
Natalie Morales and Willie Geist have been dropped from the Today show, Us Weekly reports. The two co-hosts were "recently told they were fired," a source tells Us, though NBC has made no official comment on the report.Geist, 39, is reportedly heading to CBS, while Morales is in talks with ABC, according to Us.TVGuide.com's emails to NBC were not immediately returned.Last week, the New York Post reported that Morales was planning to leave the show amid behind-the-scenes tension with co-host Tamron Hall and NBC News President Deborah Turness.

The moves are part of NBC's ongoing attempts to beat ABC's surging Good Morning America in the ratings, according to Us. Other proposed changes include moving Hoda Kotb from the 10 a.m. hour to the 9 a.m. hour, and possibly recruiting GMA alum Josh Elliott, Us reports. However, it's possible that NBC could try to woo Morales and Geist back, according to Us,since their firings came at the recommendation of Today general manager Jamie Horowitz, who was let go on Monday after just two months. What do you think of the Today show shakeups? Would you miss Morales and Geist? https://tv.yahoo.com/news/report-natalie-morales-willie-geist-fired-today-143900015.html Please move if in wrong place and I apologize!! :)

NBC News Chief Deborah Turness Denies Natalie Morales And Willie Geist Are Out At ‘Today’
Another damage-control day for NBC News President, Deborah Turness. This morning, she was compelled to issue a statement saying “The entire Today show anchor team — Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, Willie Geist, Carson Daly, Tamron Hall, Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb — are incredibly talented, valued and have our support. In response to the false rumors that have been circulated about our anchor team, NBC wants to be absolutely clear: The rumors are wrong — period. This is the team we are committed to. And this is the team that our viewers turn to in the morning. “
This, in response to a report in the new issue of Us Weekly, saying Geist and Morales had been fired, with Morales now in talks at ABC and Geist lined up at CBS. The celebrity suck-up mag did note those cuts were followed by NBC News’ swift whacking of GM Jamie Horowitz this week, just a few weeks after he’d been brought on board to fix the ratings-hungry morning infotainment shows, but left open the possibility Geist and Morales might not return.
