I am helping my mom dump dishnetwork. I bought her this antenna
RCA Compact Outdoor Yagi HDTV Antenna

I took off the dish network dish and connected the antenna on the remaining post. I tried hooking the existing coaxial cables to the antenna, but the TV could find no channels when I did the scan.

Am I missing something?
Thanks,
Y-

Thought of another couple of things - -
Did you use the existing Dishnet coax at the antenna?
If so, confirm that there's nothing 'extra' in the coax line. Nothing but coax from antenna to TV, If there's something, remove it and use a F-81 'splice' to bypass it.
BTW, put actual address in at the TVfool page for location.
And welcome to the Satelliteguys forum.

I second the CATV/AIR switch suggestion.

The antenna, assuming it is an ANT751R, is around its max at 41 miles. Is it pointed at the SLC towers (197 degrees true, 185 magnetic)?

KUTF may not make an appearance as it is on the back side and in the VHF-Hi band.

Looks like you need a good UHF antenna not a marginal VHF/UHF if you are using an ANT751.

Think I'd go with a DB4 and forego that VHF station.
(Statement after viewing the tvfool report of the O.P's general area)
Wonder if the O.P. is coming back??

Technical question

VHF - Hi antenna source?
