Replacing a damaged C Band dish

Just a thought. If you have a damaged C-band dish reflector, you could just replace the reflector and get your dish back in business. Keep the Polar mount from your old dish and then refit that on a Fortec 2.4m C-Band reflector.

Here is a picture of the Fortec 8' dish from the back. Fit your Polar mount on the back ring of the Fortec dish. You may have to drill some holes, etc. It makes for a nice project:

 
The dish is $279 and S/H is around $125 (but that depends on your zip code). If you let me know your zip code, we can get you an accurate S/H number.
 
I've thought seriously about doing this should my quest for the elusive Birdview leave me empty handed.
I'm also considering:
sheet aluminum in place of the mesh
aluminum foil (but I don't think it would hold up too well)
and
the BUF ("Big Ugly Fence")

Pretty impressive considering I'm barely getting 4 hours sleep at night as it is...
