Just to chime in it was my understanding that the cards were not paired to the receiver and the receiver transmitted the package data to the SIM card upon insertion but that was just my understanding I have a virgin box as well as one that's activated and I can test the theory
Edit: I also have a virgin sim orby sent me when they were still in business. So it's not tied to any IRD
