I had to replace my 722 with another due to hang ups and lost signals. I asked Dish support about my recorded programs and was told that putting them on usb external drive would work. Put in replacement and when I try to access my usb drive, I get a warning that the drive was linked to one receiver and I will loose all my recordings. Anything I can do to salvage them?

Did you call Dish? The external drive is supposed to be tied to your account, not your receiver.

It is a good idea (too late on this case) to write down your Household Number in Diagnostics + a few page downs.
This way you can verify that they reloaded your number correctly. If it is zero or wrong, ask for a new "hit" to reset your receiver's HH number. Try working with technical services.
