I have a dish 500 system that i purchased about 7 yrs ago. I have the original JVC 3800 reciever as well as a 510 reciever. I lost my satellite signal and i went into set up and it said that i dont have a switch box attached. from what i have read here i need to replace the lnbf. my question is can i get a dishpro lnbf and will it work with my older receiver?

Well if it is your LNB thats bad your 510 will work fine with the DP LNB but the 3800 might be a different story because it a legacy receiver. You will need an adaptor I believe to convert the 3800 to work with the DP LNB.

You can replace it with a Legacy twin and it will work fine with both receivers. You can also buy a Dish Pro Twin but you would indeed need a DP legacy adaptor. You could get a Dish Pro Plus Twin however and not need the DP adaptor. You just would have to make sure the 510 always stayed plugged in to power the LNB.

hassles, then free channels. awesome mistake?
