I am trying to get my Dish Network remote operate my Phillips home surround sound system. However, the only command that the remote will learn is the off/on button - the volume control will not work. Doing some research, the reason is that Phillips systems use a "toggle ir bit" in their products. Can a Dish remote be programmed to handle these toggle bits?

Here is the link that I found my information at: RC Forums: Cable Box Remote won't control Philips Home Theater

I can't seem to get it to work, but I might be doing something wrong.

I am using the remote that came with my 222k. 20.0 IR is what it says on the back.

Yeah, I did the code search. Since it is on my AUX setting, I went through the procedure where I had to hit 2* first before searching the codes, and a code works, but it only controls the on/off.

The 20,0 is both a programable and learning remote. If you can't program it read instructions on teaching it from the original remote. It isn't that hard I did mine but now I would have to go reread my instructions so you might as well do the reading.

I figured it out...when I did the code scan, I stopped at the first code it came up with, but that one only powered on/off the machine. I then did the code scan again and came across another code and not it works fine. Thanks for the feedback.

It's not the 20.0, rather the 21.0. (IR/UHF)

My 222 receiver has a 20.0 remote (#1) IR only.
The remote #2 is 21.0 uhf only.
I'm not aware that either is both ir and uhf. I do wish
the 21.0 had dual capability. If there is a way to make it dual, someone
please let me know how.:D:D:D

There is a IR/UHF switch in the battery compartment of the 21.0 remote. Even when set to UHF any or all components programmed to be operated by it are via IR.

When switch on #2 (21,0) remote is changed to ir, I can't get receiver #2 on my vip222k to respond, even when pointing #2 / 21.0 remote directly at receiver. Receiver 2 must be controlled by uhf only. Remote 2 works poorly when 2 rooms away from the receiver. I have a "pyramid" uhf to ir converter that I wanted to put in place to operate receiver 2 from another room. Apparently Remote 2 (21.0) does not put out a ir signal to control the
#2 receiver, therefore the pyramid receives no ir signal to convert to uhf. That's why i wanted remote #2 to put out a ir signal to control receiver #2.

Does anyone know if the 21.0 two-way feature still only works with the 722k? Does the two-way feature work on the 622 or 722?
What are you referring to as two way feature? If you are asking does it work with the 622/722, it always has. If you are referring to storing settings, I don't believe that ever came to be.

Yeah, the storing feature. Was hoping they enabled the storing feature on the 622/722.
