Remote problem

The remote for the SD receiver in the bedroom has gone belly up. It will not operate anything. Brand new batteries did not help. You can operate the receiver from the front panel, but remote is dead. Is there something I can do to fix this, or replacement the only option? Remote is only eight month old.

If you have another one, try it and see if it's really the remote or the ir receiver on the box.

Our other remotes are for HR24-500s...will they work with the SD receiver?

The remote is bad. If you have the protection plan, call D* and they will send you one. If not, you can get a D* remote from Wal Mart or Best Buy for around $20.

Called D* last night and as I suspected the remote was bad. I do have the protection plan and they are sending me a new one. I do appreciate the info. I did not know the remotes would work of any receiver! You learn something new every day!!
