My Mom has DirecTV and she gave me her extra H25 Receiver for me to use at my place in the country. I used to have my extra DirecTV receiver there H24 until I dropped DirecTV and got Spectrum. When I hooked up the receiver it would not connect to the satellite dish, got error code 775. I was reading something about a SWM adapter....I don't have that in troubleshooting....is that something that I need to make it connect to the dish?

The H25 will only work with an SWM dish, and its associated power inserter. You can buy an SWM LNB from Solid Signal, or from many ebay vendors. it's a straight substitution

I don't have a clue if I have a SWM dish....I think it is a Slim Line? What does the SWM LNB look like? Is it something I have to attach to the dish or does in attach in the house to the cable line?

:welcome to Satelliteguys Cindy P!
Using your mother's H25 at your house is a violation of Directv's policies and isn't a topic for discussion here. Sorry, but I have to close this thread.
