Recording Failure

I've had D* for about a month. For the second time one of my HR21 receivers has failed to record for a preset tv series. It shows that the program is recorded but when I play it all I get is a white picture. Luckily my dvr in the kitchen recorded each of the programs.

Is this common?

My HR20 hasn't failed since I put it into service last October.

What did the recording history say, if anything?

is it only this once? if not, go to menu, settings, setup, test and info, go to info and look for internal temperature. the normal should be around 127 f. if running all day with plenty of ventilation. above and beyond that would cause internal failure in due time.
