Recording DVD onto DVR

What is the best way to do this? From what I can tell, it looks like I need
an RF modulator to go from the DVD to the the DVR (Dishplayer 510)
cable-in/antenna-in coax connector. With this setup should I be able to
record the DVD's onto the DVR? Is there any loss associated with it? I
mainly want it for recording children's DVD's for my daughter so I'm not so
worried about stereo quality.

Welcome to Sat guys.... It is not possible with any of the Dish products...(to my knowledge) You can do it with a Replay, S-video in , not sure if a Stand alone Tivo will...Sorry

Stand-alone Tivo can (of course) record an external video signal.

E* DVRs (and probably D* Tivo) do not have MPEG encoders and therefore can NOT record external analog inputs - and they do not have any external digital inputs, so no joy there either.
