Recorded only 1 min of 2 hrs

Well this morning my 722k really screwed up my recording of Today. It recorded 1 min of the 2 hours. That was all. I started it over same thing. Started it again and was FF it and it jumped from the start to the finish. This getting to be a really nasty bug and seems to be getting worse now. It used to record like 20 mins of an hour program and stop. Now it has gotten much much worse. This was on an OTA local channel.

Don't know usually when this old bug that continues to live on 722k happens it will record 20 mins before it aborts the show.

I agree with TheKrell. It sounds like the hard drive could be going. If you check the daily schedule, does it say it was stopped for any reason?

Nope just says "Done". It showed that it was 2 hrs long it just ran 2 mins and was over. The play out bar played and jumped from a min in to the end.

Sounds like the same problem several other members have had. Supposedly a firmware update several months fixed the problem, however I've had it happen once since the update.

When you delete the program see if gain back 2 hours recording capacity or just the 1 minute.

I had a weird one the other day.

Set the timer to record the closing ceremonies on NBC, and instead it recorded 4 minutes, and then switched to a completely different network, FOX or CW and recorded for 3 hours, yet the description of the recording was still the NBC channel and "Closing Ceremonies".

It has happened more lately similar cut offs. I can't count on if the episode is going to record in full or not. The episode may be a min long or 20 mins or whole thing just not reliable any more. Who is the DIRT member on duty tonight. I think I need to talk to you about sending a replacement 722k. I search who all is on line and found out Matt is DIRT on duty. So just sent a PM to him.

My 722K also has been doing this on and off for about a month now. The recording will show 2 hours in the list, but then only plays a number of minutes and stops. No error messages about aborting the recording or anything. Just the usual "Skipped, duplicate show" or "Done" that's all.

As Mike88 pointed out, most times I seem to reclaim 2 hours of recording space.

It's been a while, but at the time my month old 722k was replaced with another new 722k for this problem. Ten days later I had the same problem. During the last year it seems to be happening less often. But the last time it occurred Dish appeared to be surprised and said a firmware update was to have solved the problem. I thought perhaps this was just a one-time fluke, but I guess not since it still happens. Of course at this point in time the problem could be a hard drive starting to act up. Maybe the HDDs are starting to wear out & hopefully a replacement will fix your problem.
