What kind of reception could I expect from 129 with a Dish300? I currently have a Dish300 pointed at 61.5 but want to move it to 129 to pick up FSN-SW (HD). I don't want to get a significantly poorer signal on all other HD channels just to get FSN.

Depending on your area, unless you get a 30'' or 24'' dish you will get poorer signals from 129 than from 61.5.

I'd say try it and see what you get but before you do anything mark your settings for 61.5.

Look around and find a Dish 500 (flea markets garage sales etc...) I tried a dish 1000 for awhile and kept it dedicated to 129 keeping my Dish 500 for 110/119. I replaced the 1000 with a 500 and got slightly better signals(had not repeaked 1000 in awhile and I wanted the 1000 for Camping) I tried a Dish 300 first and was not satisfied at all...

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I need to track down a used Dish500 somewhere. I'm mildly surprised that Dish would have such a poor quality bird in a location that so many depend on.

It's a stopgap until the Ciel-2 replacement goes up next year.

I would your Dish 300 for 129 sat first. If peaked good, you may not need a bigger dish esp. if you don't have a lot of thunder storms. It should work better than a Dish 1000. Your signal will be worse than than the 61.5 sat but may still be good enough for a solid picture.

Any word on FSN Wisconsin?
