1. I don't have a landline and our local monopoly wants $35 a month for one. Up front is there anyway to get around this $5 a month charge? I am never going to order PPV Movies, just NHL Ticket.

2. Will NHL Ticket be in HD this year on Dish?

3. With the 622 can I watch the local channels in HD on one tv and at the same time watch locals on another sd tv?

4. Townhome Association says no Dish visible from front of house. We own no land the just the house and the deck so no yard mounting available. Trees are blocking almost all of our southern sky. What are my chance of getting dish?

If I can resolve these I am ready to switch from Charter Cable....

1. no way around the 5 bux as far as I know.

2. They have an HD channel for NHL, have had it for a while..

3. Yes, in dual mode #1 can watch OTA channels and #2 can watch locals from dish.. or if you're luck enough to get HD from dish then #1 & #2 can watch either..

4. This will be an issue.. though OTARD says associations can't mandate you can't have it in the front if that's the only place it'll work if you own the home.. so you get the joy of telling them tuff noogies if you own the place or the landlord say you can install it..

Thanks Vince....

Let me clarify for anyone else that can help me out.

1. Understand, was just hoping there was a way around it.

2. Should be NHL Center Ice, we had some games on HDNet in hidef but the NHL Ticket was all SD last year. DirectTV had some games in HD was hoping Dish had some also.

3. I sort of understand that, won't be a concern all the time just if the mother in law is visiting and wants to watch TV when we are.

4. We have a good relationship with our association and really don't want to ruffle any feathers. I contacted Dish and they said I had to pay up front to find out whether a dish will work in my situation or not....

#2, they had NHLHD last year.. which if you payed for the season you could watch the high def games on there..

#4 Yeah, that's how it works.. My community gave me a hard time at first.. OTARD took care of those issues.. I also told them a few additional laws I had read about on some other issues I was having with them and they backed off from me.. ;)

#2, they had NHLHD last year.. which if you payed for the season you could watch the high def games on there..

So they would just have one game each night in HD? Could you choose which game you wanted to see in HD? For instance, i'm a Flyers fan and will be buying NHL Center Ice. Can I see all of my Flyers games in HD, and if so, how?

I never payed much attention since I didn't subscribe.. but I do recall them having varied games on it.. HDNet did carry some and I think VS. has NHL games on it? that's coming August 15th if I remember correct in HD..

I am going to have stay with the cable internet through Charter for the time being. They will be offering VOIP phone service and the bundle will bring the price down but not certain when that is going to happen.

Basically have to make a decision soon. The wife says it's me or these stupid Moxi box DVR's through Charter. One of us is leaving the house by the end of the week and I like the air conditioning :)

Bummer....no Dish service for me. Set up an appointment with Dishstore (awesome customer service btw) and the tech came this morning. Said no way around my trees that he could see so the supervisor came out to look. Even with two satellite dishes he said he couldn't guarantee service.

And I can't cut the trees down :(

Was really looking forward to having real HD Service.....

Satellite programming stream over the internet. Is this ok?

I got downgraded to 4.05
