Reading channel chart and signal strengths (HD Locals)

I searched the forum a bit but didn't find anything that addressed this question. (Blame my search skills if I just completely missed it.)

The HD channels in my current DMA (San Francisco, Sat 119, Transponder 7s4) fade to nothing between 7:30pm and 8:00pm and come back around 11:00pm.

I see from the Dish Network Channel Chart* that Los Angeles HD locals are on Sat 129, transponder 10 and Sacramento, CA are on 110, Trans 18s43 (Transponder 18, spotbeam 43?).

Am I correct in believing that if I get reasonable signal strength on 129, transponder 10 I would be able to receive Los Angeles HD locals? For Sacramento, would I check 110 and transponder 18? San Diego, 110, trans. 29?

The transponder vs. spotbeam terminology has me somewhat confused (and have been for quite sometime) and I don't really want to 'pack' and find a 'new apartment' more than I have to.

Thanks!
