[VOOM] Wilt or others--need advice on receiving 1 out of 17 OTA channels.

Sorry but this is going to be a bit long winded. Have been a VOOM
customer since Dec. Had been receiving our local PBS HD ch. on
subchannel 9-2 after 5 PM (prior to that other daytime programming in
SD). PG info always showed up on 9-5 without any picture. (When we
had a Samsung HD setup prior to VOOM the HD signal came in on 9-5).

However, for the past month and a half since the download of 6.10
and/or 6.20(we believe) we no longer receive the HD signal on ch. 9.
At 5 PM 9-2 goes blank and its PG says "Off Air". At that time 9-5's
PG now lists programming but no picture. I hadn't dealt with the
problem for awhile since I'd been sick but last Sat. decided to try to
figure things out. Decided to check signal strength ch. by ch. on 9.
When I got to the 9-2 having started with 9-1 and got to the Current
Software page we had another freezeup. Did a 10" power button reboot
and started with OTA ch. 4 and worked my way up to 9-2 and there was
the HD program in all its glory! Went back to ch. 4 for about 20' and
then back to 9-2 which now displayed "No Signal" again.

Since we hadn't done an OTA scan with the new firmware we gave that a
try hoping it would resolve the problem. Afterward we had exactly the
same channels as before and still no HD on 9-2 or 9-5.

Have talked to several VOOM CSRs since then and had a service call
from Installs, Inc. (amazingly on time and professional this time!).
Michael from Installs assured us that we had a great signal on ch. 9
as it was 98 on 9-1, 9-2, 9-3 and 9-4. He and his supervisor decided
not to touch the antenna (he'd been sent to see if our OTA antenna
needed tweaking) and had no idea why we were not receiving an HD
signal on ch. 9 (of course, since he was here around 11 AM ch. 9 was
not broadcasting an HD signal although he saw an SD pic on 9-2 and
"Off Air" on 9-5).

Called VOOM again and the CSR suggested trying to reset the resolution
by using the infamous red button behing the door. Did so and did a
power button reset. After this as soon as the program bar was
available (couple of min.) 9-5 displayed "KCTS HD" but some time later
it had changed to "KCTS D5". Last night we checked for an HD signal
on 9-2 or 9-5 with no luck.

Forgot to mention earlier that a CSR had insisted we contact ch. 9 to
make sure they were broadcasting an HD signal. I talked to their
chief engineer last Mon. morn and was assured that they are from
5PM-2AM daily. They should know what they are doing as they were the
3rd station in the US to broadcast in HD.

Called and talked to a supervisor at VOOM a short time ago. Described
the problem in detail. She said we shouldn't be getting ch. 9 at all
since it wasn't listed on antennaweb. (I'll have to check that out
but the last time we downloaded the stations ch. 9 was indeed there.)
Basically, since it isn't shown there we are out of luck. She said
that she would send the problem in for research and will get back to
us by phone within 72 hours.

Sorry, I don't get it. 9-1, 9-2, 9-3 and 9-5 are all listed on VOOM's
PG and we received it from last Dec. until early Aug. and now it's not
available? Is it possible that the new firmware isn't recognizing
9-5? Maybe 9-5 is listed as a premium channel for which we haven't
paid? I know all the premium channels are off the satellite but....

Any ideas? We've run out on this end.
