I agree. A firewire port would solve my problems. I could at least record HD programs to watch later with my JVC HD recorder.

Good to see the new channels, although I could do without most of them
personally, it's great to have a bit more variety.

In response to some of the other folks and the vapor-dvr, I could
honestly live without a dvr if they would put a firewire port on the
existing box. I know people have discussed that topic into the ground
as well but would sure love to understand the resistance to that.

I'd say the DVR will be out before the end of the month as long as he got backing to buy Voom, They bought a bunch of the DVR's they showed at the Show in Vegas, The multi-room DVR, That should be a great DVR. Still have fingers crossed, it sure is hard typing tho... :up

Where did you hear they bought a bunch of these DVRs? Especially since they
aren't ready.

They could very well have the DVR's already, by them not being ready
is probably on the software side not the hardware

There "could" very well be a DVR in the UPS system on the way to my
house......but not likely.

Earlier post suggested they had already been bought. I was looking for the
source. Also, since Wilt noted they haven't been put in beta test yet, it's
premature to state that the hardware is set. Debug doesn't work that way.

[VOOM] Re: Voom Lives and DVR thoughts...

This is a free country BOB, you can have an HD DVR tomorrow if you
look elsewhere for a provider. I have one from Cablevision it works
great.
But maybe the woe is me, DOOM and Gloom stuff is more fun for some.
Diff'rent strokes.

This isn't about Doom and Gloom, it's about realistic expectations. I've
stated on this very Forum my strong desire for the Voom DVR especially
because I've been using the Comcast offering since it became available in
December. The wife loves it and I can't see moving away from it unless a
better offer is made available.

I was asking for a source that an order was actually placed for units and
already this is turning off topic with the suggestion that I have an agenda.
Positive attitude is fine. Pie-in-the-sky simply sets people up for a
disappointment when it doesn't show this month.

We've seen the new channels rollout promised. Who has called the CSRs
recently and what is the official or unofficial updated word on the DVRs?

Bob
